Parnassus’ school motto is finis origine pendet – “the end depends upon the beginning.” While we certainly had an unusual beginning to this school year, we are looking forward to a strong finish in the fourth quarter of the school year.
May is always a busy month at Parnassus, and that is more true this year than ever before! In addition to our Fourth Level Rhetoric Thesis presentations, our school award ceremonies, field trips, and Advanced Placement exams, this year we are also doing our required state testing, the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments, in May! We know our scholars will continue to put their best foot forward through the busy weeks ahead.
At Parnassus, we often talk about “finishing strong.” During the last quarter of the school year, when other schools may be “winding down,” we believe that we need to continue working and learning right up until the final dismissal bell on the last day of school. After all, this is the time of year when our scholars are the most firm in their routines, at the greatest fluency in their reading, and have solidified the skills and knowledge they have acquired this year. We want to take advantage of that momentum and continue to work hard in all that we do through the end of the school year.
