School Uniforms

Tommy Hilfiger School Uniforms

Parnassus Preparatory School students are expected to dress in a way that aligns with our philosophy of maintaining a learning environment that focuses on the development of each student’s academic potential, personal character, and leadership skills. The uniform policy and dress code seek to create a safe learning environment with a formal and unique look for each school that highlights and emphasizes the academic culture and seriousness of learning at Parnassus. Students and parents are asked to commit to this idea as well.

The uniform guidelines at Parnassus are not meant to be financially prohibitive for any student’s ability to attend our school. Families that qualify for the free lunch program may also request assistance with uniform requirements. Assistance will be handled confidentially by contacting School Administration at kasowicz@parnassusprep.com.

Daily Dismissal Procedures

School of Grammar End-of-Day Dismissal:

At the end of the school day at 3:30pm, all students will be dismissed to their appropriate method of transportation. Students utilizing busing will exit to the buses, with Prima students being escorted by school staff. Prima-4G students who are parent/guardian pick-up will be brought outside to the Quad where they will meet their families.

To keep all of our students safe, and to ensure that teachers can confirm the identity of the adults picking up the children, we ask that parents wait to collect their children until the teachers have finished escorting students to their designated space on the Quad. We appreciate your patience and thank you for helping to keep our scholars safe and secure!

In the event of rain, parents should pick their children up in the main entrance of the School of Grammar. Staff members will direct you to where your child’s pick-up area is located in the building.

School of Logic End-of-Day Dismissal:

At the end of the school day at 3:30pm, all students will be dismissed to their appropriate method of transportation. Students utilizing busing will exit to the buses and students utilizing parent/guardian pick-up will exit through the Quad to the parking lot. If SOL/SOR scholars have a sibling in the SOG, they may pick them up outside in the Quad.

School of Rhetoric End-of-Day Dismissal:

Afternoon Transportation Changes

Dismissal and transportation change requests should be sent to dismissalchanges@parnassusprep.com.

All requests must be submitted by email or voicemail by 12:00pm each school day. This allows us to safely ensure all students have the correct dismissal change information. Please note: This is meant for occasional changes to your child’s normal end-of-day routine. If you need to make a permanent or long-term change to your child’s dismissal plan, please see your child’s school main office for a change form.

When emailing changes to the school, please list the following:

Your child’s name, school level/grade, homeroom teacher (for SOG), the desired change (e.g. bus, parent pickup), and the date.

Example:

John Smith

4G/Ms. Rose

My child will have parent pick up today, Wednesday, MM/DD/YYYY

If you have multiple children at Parnassus, you may make changes for all children in one email, but please list the appropriate information for each child. There will be an option to leave a voicemail via the main office number as well.

E-Learning Day Information

What is an E-Learning Day?

In 2017, Minnesota passed legislation. E-Learning Days are intended to help make up for lost instructional time on days when students are unable to attend school in-person due to inclement weather.

How will families be notified of an E-Learning Day?

Families will receive an automated phone call, email, and — if they have opted-in —  a text message from Parnassus informing them of the school closure and E-Learning Day.

To opt-in to receive text message alerts from Parnassus, text YES to 67-587. Please note that standard messaging rates for your wireless carrier may apply.

Messages will also be posted on the school website, Infinite Campus portal, and social media, and will appear on Parnassus designated local media outlet, WCCO.

These messages and alerts will be sent to families at least two hours before the normal school start time of 8:00am. Every effort will be made to provide notice to families with as much advance notice as possible.

E-Learning assignments and activities will be posted by 8:00am.

What are the expectations for students?

Earlier this year, students received paper copies of their E-Learning Day assignments and were instructed to keep these in a safe place at home. Digital copies will also be available in Infinite Campus and will be posted on the E-Learning Day in the event one is called.

Students will turn in their completed paper-based work to teachers when they return to school. Students will have up to five school days after a designated E-Learning Day to turn in the assignments.

When will teachers and staff be available for questions and support?

Parnassus faculty will be available between 10:00-11:30am and 12:30-3:00pm for questions and support. If you leave a voicemail message for a teacher, they will receive an electronic copy in their email inbox.
